What does this mean for companies, and how can OIXIO Digital help?
Microsoft has announced that new prices for Dynamics 365 Business Central cloud service user licenses will take effect from October 1, 2025. This is the first price adjustment since 2018. The change affects Essentials, Premium, and Device licenses, bringing approximately a 10–12% price increase, while also increasing the storage capacity per user.
Why are the prices changing?
Microsoft justifies the price adjustment with the rapid development of Business Central – over recent years, the solution has evolved from a simple accounting tool into a versatile ERP system that fully supports business management and planning.
🤖 AI-powered Copilot that assists with daily workflows (e.g., sales order generation, financial summaries, automatic account reconciliation)
📊Real-time AI financial analytics and reporting for faster and more informed decision-making
🔗Strong Power Platform integration (Power BI, Power Automate) and smooth collaboration with Microsoft 365
🏭 Enhanced industry, supply chain, and manufacturing support through newly introduced extensions
🌱 Sustainability and ESG reporting – tools to track CO₂, waste, and resource usage with AI and analytics
☁️ Master data management, broader localization options, and increased cloud storage capacity:
- Essentials: 2 → 3 GB
- Premium: 3 → 5 GB
- Device: 1 → 1.5 GB
This is the first price increase in over five years, and it also brings more storage and built-in AI capabilities.
Who is affected and when will the prices increase?
The new prices will take effect for all new contracts starting from October 1, 2025. For existing customers, the new pricing will apply upon the next contract renewal after that date. This means that long-term agreements may continue to benefit from the old pricing until the next renewal.
Our recommendation for companies
We recommend companies consider locking in current pricing before the change takes effect, assess the added value of Business Central (e.g., AI, analytics, and planning capabilities), and utilize OIXIO Digital’s support to strategically plan and optimize around the pricing update.
